 1) What is a conglomerate in the media industries? 

A conglomerate is a media company that owns that owns a lot of the smaller companies

2) What is a subsidiary?

A subsidiary are the smaller media companies

3) What are the benefits for media companies of vertical integration?

They get to have full ownership and can make lots of profit

4) What are the benefits for media companies of horizontal integration?

Horizontal integration allows companies to widen their audience and find other ways to make money

Convergence is when many platforms have all been merged into a single platform or device.
Meaning audiences have it easier and producers loose profit

 Instagram was Facebook's biggest competitor so to prevent loss they bought it and now that it has gotten more popular they can make good profit as there Facebook is slowly getting less users
